That got away from me very quickly

I don't know where the last two weeks went... I mean they have flown super quickly. I haven't done too much lately but spend time with my better half. We have successfully caught up on most shows we watched which included Walking Dead and the finale of How I met your Mother (worst ending ever by the way). However,  I will show you in pictures how the last couple of weeks have been spent...

Lots of shopping together... These obnoxiously awesome mugs can be found at Urban Outfitters. LOVE THEM.

Perfection.

You now can stop searching. There is a cat flask. I didn't actually buy this, but for all of you fellow crazy cat ladies out there, this exists.

Spending time together is the best. I missed it so much. This is downtown Charleston on King St.

There have been lots of froyo trips. Yogurt mountain is pretty much the best. I will tell you I did go to boot camp after this was consumed. I dragged but I was there.

Words can't express how awesome this day was.

There also been a lot of eating at yummy places... This was at a local favorite Sesame. You can build your own burgers at this place.. It's a really cool concept.

I got the portobello tacos, they were absolutely divine. AND those onion rings.. WOAH. Amazing.

There is a little cat in his lap. I think Gizmo is getting back into the swing of things.

This was consumed this evening at a little sushi place called Osaka... Don't worry there were FOUR people eating off this plate. Challenge was accepted.

Yes. We are all in a sushi coma.

Hopefully with in the following weeks i'll be able to get back to the swing of things. It's been a really great couple of weeks. However, my fitness life has definitely been put on the back burner. Time to get back to killing it in boot camp and spin class.

Hope everyone has had a great month of June! I can't believe Tuesday is the start of July. This year is flying!

An ode to the Fathers

Happy Father's day!!!

Today is a day that I remember the father that have and the dad that stepped into my life years ago that God needed back.

This is my father. I love him very much. He was there to walk me down the aisle. He wasn't always super involved with my life, but over the past 6 years he has been. I'm so thankful that that, we continue to build a relationship every day.

This man is known as my Godfather. He is not actually my godfather, but God sure did bring him in my life when I needed him the most. I met him when I was 14 years old. My life before him was rocky, unstable and lacked serious direction. He came in and turned my life around in ways I wouldn't understand until much later in my life. He taught me to make sure that I stayed aware of the things going on around me. That I couldn't always control what happened around me, but I could control the way I reacted. In the Fall of 2006, God needed him back. I was 18. His earthly presence was in my life for four years, but those years mattered the most. I never felt more love in my entire life than in those years. I still feel him everyday. I love him and I know he watches over me. I promise to write more about him. He will always be my dad.

This is my ode to the fathers.

What are you doing for father's day?!

Do you have someone who stepped in as a dad when they didn't have to?

Five Tangents.

1. How cute is this cat? He's so fluffy and I love him, I can't even handle it. It's been just me and Lou kitty hanging out all day. Loving this lazy day.

2. This. I don't think it needs an explanation.

3. What in the ever loving hell is this?! I'm not even posting this picture because I don't want to look again. Seriously if I ever saw someone wearing this, I don't know how i'd respond. Sometimes I really wonder what goes through people's head when trends like these become a "thing". I'm actually wondering how this thing even stays on.

4. OLE OLE OLE! I'm keeping up with the world cup!!! I actually really like soccer. I always wanted to play when I was a kid, but never had the chance because of one thing or another. Soccer isn't really too popular where i'm from. However, I love that fact that all the nations come together to play a sport and everyone has a lot of pride where they come from. I'm currently watching the Chile-Australia game, I'm rooting for Australia! My goal at the end of this world cup is have teams that I will follow during the years between world cups!

Random: Does anyone else think the Chile flag looks similar to the Texas flag? hmm.

5. So I have an obsession... with Yankee Candle Company. When they have a semi-annual sale, I oblige. EVERY TIME. For all this I spent about $50, and that had free shipping. I was so pumped. If you are wondering what the second pic is, those are wax melts. They melt in any wax melter and can be put just about any where.

I hope everyone is having a great Friday!

Anybody share a yankee candle obsession like mine?!

Who is watching the World Cup? If so, who is your team?

It's official.

I'm coming home to Texas! I'm actually coming home twice this year.

This time i'll be coming for a bachelorette party! I'm so excited. My maid of honor at my wedding, Tirah, is getting married. I'm one of her bridesmaids! We will be going to Fredericksburg to hang out and drink wine.  It's crazy that Texas actually has vineyards and produces a good bit a wine. If you're ever in Texas go to the hill country and explore.

Oh and Southwest airlines has some awesome deals going on, I just got a flight from Charleston to Houston in October for $200. That is crazy awesome. Looking to travel?! Go to Southwest. ***I didn't get too lucky with the flight in August, but some people are just worth it.. ***

Tirah and I. She is an amazing friend. I love her so much.

How freaking cute is this?! How could I say no?!!

The second time i'm coming home to Texas in October for the Tirah's wedding! We will be staying for a WHOLE week. I will be consuming a lot of barbeque and mexican food, while trying not to gain a lot of weight. CHALLENGE EXCEPTED!... I'll let you know how that goes..

Until next time. Here is this cat.

Eating things like this.

My view driving home from boot camp, you might see traffic, But I see a C-17 (plane) in the sky bringing our heroes home.

Sweating like a 300 lb man, happy as can be after a kick ass workout.

I'm getting some biceps, slowly but surely.

Gizmo needed some face time.

Some elliptical work.

Gizmo being pathetic that i'm going to work on the night shift..

Short cat video that made my week!

Hope everyone had a great weekend!! Here's to an awesome week!!

How in the world did that happen?!

It's June y'all. How in the world did that happen?! Time is flying. I can't even believe this part...  My RN pinning ceremony is less than 200 days away. Of course those are cats in the background, did you expect anything else??! It just hit me that this year is half over, 6 months until christmas. As i've gotten older the years are starting to fly. Somebody make it stop.

It's been awhile since i've been on here.. sorry. This is what i've been up to though...
Studying anti-depressants with Mr. Lou Kitty. He is my study buddy!

Does anyone have a cat or dog?! If you do. INVEST IN A FURMINATOR. You will not be sorry. This tool helps shed your cats and dogs for you. It somehow targets the under coat, which is the shedding culprit. This fur was from Lou, he has been throwing up hairballs right and left, and I had to do something. We have done the hairball food, lubricant to help digest the hair and everything else. Nothing was working. I was just about ready to shave this cat. Thank goodness I didn't have to resort to that, but from this picture it kinda looks like I did.

So lately I've been really committed to working out and have been really motivated. So after my meltdown last week, I decided to put my energy in to really finding out what i'm made of.

My week so far:

Sunday: Did an elliptical workout from one of my favorite blogs, Check out Peanut Butter Fingers blog. If you need some motivation just read a couple of her posts and you'll find some awesome ideas. I also did some arm workouts with the Lat pull machine as well as free weights. Ab and squat challenge.

Monday: I went to boot camp today. We did different station that consisted of jump ropes, donkey kicks, flutter kicks, pull ups, box burpees, lunge walks, squat jumps, wall balls, ball squats and step ups.  Each station was 4 minutes long. I was so surprised I could do some of the workouts for several rounds before the 4 minutes were up! AB and Squat challenge

Tuesday:  Rest day except for my AB and squat challenge.

Wednesday, Thursday, Friday... stay tuned.

Have you guys seen this on running around on Facebook?! I think it's a great idea! I love that the pages are full of people rallying around and encouraging each other to get into a routine to work out. This is awesome and you should find it on Facebook and join!

It's been a great week and I hope to an even better finish!

I hope your week has been great!

What workouts are you into this week?!

Have you joined the Ab or Squat Challenge? If not, what's stopping you?
